We are opening recruitment for the Legal Clinic in the 2026/2027 academic year. The course is elective and counts towards group C (8 ECTS credits).
The aim of the Legal Clinic course is to give students the opportunity to learn about the law in practice and to acquire basic skills in providing legal advice. The Clinic's clients are people of limited means who cannot afford paid legal advice.
Format
Elective course, group C – 8 ECTS credits.
Who can apply
Third-, fourth- and fifth-year students of the Faculty with good results and completed seminars in the relevant fields.
Scale
Around 120 students take part in the Legal Clinic each year.

Who can apply
- The course is open to third-, fourth- and fifth-year students of the Faculty interested in criminal, civil, labour and administrative law and related fields, with good examination results and completed seminars and specialisation lectures.
- The expected group size is around 120 students.
- The course runs for the whole academic year. It consists of general clinical lectures, weekly section seminars, attendance at court hearings, consultations with the coordinator and office hours during which students give legal advice.
- General clinical seminars always take place on Wednesdays, 15:00–16:30.
- Credit is based on attendance at lectures and seminars and on the coordinator's assessment of the student's work. An examination may also be taken (requirements: a very good grade for the course and knowledge of the rules on disciplinary liability and legal professional ethics).

Send your CV and cover letter to k.szymanski@wpia.uw.edu.pl with the note "Recruitment to the Legal Clinic". The cover letter should state the reasons for choosing a particular section, grades and credits in subjects related to that section, your grade point average, knowledge of foreign languages (for the refugee section Russian and other languages are welcome), experience of working with NGOs and your main interests.
