Agreement with the District Court in Warsaw

10 July 2026

The District Court in Warsaw and the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw join forces to implement a Doctoral Programme.

We are pleased to announce that on 10 July 2026, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw and the District Court in Warsaw. The parties were represented by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr Habil. Sławomir Żółtek, University Professor, and the Vice-President of the District Court in Warsaw, Judge Rafał Wagner, respectively.

Pursuant to the agreement, the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw invites judges and employees of the District Court in Warsaw to participate in the Doctoral Programme, which will enable further academic development and thus enhance their theoretical and practical competencies.

The aim of the agreement is to encourage legal practitioners to undertake research work and to integrate their adjudicative experience into the academic life of the Faculty. We believe that the benefit will be mutual: legal scholarship will gain direct access to the problems that adjudications face daily, and legal practice will gain a solid theoretical background and a space for reflection on law that extends beyond individual cases. This project has the potential to genuinely bring legal scholarship closer to practice, and practice closer to scholarship.
