Establishment of the Conference of Deans of Public University Faculties of Law

On 20 April 2026, a meeting of deans of public university faculties of law was held at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw, during which the Conference of Deans of Public University Faculties of Law was established.

The Conference was formed by representatives of 16 faculties of law operating at public universities in Poland. The initiative to establish it came from the deans of the faculties of law of Uniwersytet Gdański, Uniwersytet Szczeciński, Uniwersytet Śląski w Katowicach, and Uniwersytet Wrocławski.

The Conference was established as a national forum for cooperation between public university faculties of law. Its activities will serve to improve the quality of legal education, support the development of legal science, and facilitate the exchange of experiences concerning the functioning of the faculties.

This newly established body is also intended to be a platform for representing the academic community in dialogue with public authorities and institutions responsible for shaping the higher education system and the model of legal education in Poland.

The founding member faculties of the Conference are the faculties of law of the following universities: Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski Jana Pawła II, Uniwersytet w Białymstoku, Uniwersytet Gdański, Uniwersytet Jana Kochanowskiego w Kielcach, Uniwersytet Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego w Warszawie, Uniwersytet Łódzki, Uniwersytet Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie, Uniwersytet Mikołaja Kopernika w Toruniu, Uniwersytet Opolski, Uniwersytet Rzeszowski, Uniwersytet Szczeciński, Uniwersytet Śląski w Katowicach, Uniwersytet Warmińsko-Mazurski w Olsztynie, Uniwersytet Warszawski, Uniwersytet Wrocławski, Uniwersytet Zielonogórski.

The establishment of the Conference represents an important step towards deepening cooperation between university faculties of law and developing common standpoints on issues critical to legal science and education.
