Eight legal systems under one roof

Schools of Foreign Law are year-long courses run jointly with partner law faculties from around the world – taught in their original languages, by professors from the USA, the United Kingdom, China, France, Spain, Germany, Italy and the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Each school has its own history, academic partners and language of instruction. What unites them is this: they give law students and graduates solid knowledge of a foreign legal order and specialist legal language – without leaving Warsaw. Completion is marked by a certificate awarded jointly by the Faculty of Law and Administration, UW, and the partner university.

Format

Year-long academic courses, most often on weekends or in modular form. Some schools teach entirely online, others in a hybrid or in-person format.

Who it's for

Students from year III onward, law graduates, doctoral students and practitioners. Some schools are also open to students of other fields.

Language

Classes are taught in the language of the partner legal system – English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and in the School of Eastern Europe also in Polish and Russian.

Document

A course completion certificate signed by the Faculty of Law and Administration, UW, and the partner university. Selected schools offer ECTS credits and the option to settle the course as a block.
