CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

for the international interdisciplinary conference
"Good governance in the European Union"

The conference will take place on the 17 th September 2024 (Tuesday)
at the Faculty of Law and Administration University of Warsaw
Time: 10 am – 6 pm
aula A3, Collegium Iuridicum II at 4 Lipowa Street in Warsaw

What are the requirements and effects of good governance? Are those connected to economic achievements, social cohesion, environment protection, peace and well- being of peoples? What is the relationship between the values and governance? What is the role of law (and soft law) within governance process? The aim of the conference is to focus upon those questions within the European milieu. What are the actual examples of good European governance? How to evaluate the political programmes of the European Commission, presided by Ursula von der Leyen (2019-2024), and the Commissions within historical perspective? Were those programmes conducive to the implementation of good governance? What should be the priorities of the new European Commission (2024-2029)? What are the present challenges of good governance in Europe?

Scholars of various disciplines (law, political sciences, economics, administrative sciences, sociology, history, philosophy, cultural and religious studies) are warmly invited to attend to the conference and engage in the academic debate.
Conference fee (active participation, with paper presentation): 100 euro (or 425 PLN)
Passive participation, without paper presentation: free of charge
The deadline for submitting abstracts (max. 300 words): 15 th August 2024
Decisions on proposals’ acceptance: 31 st August 2024

Selected papers will be published in the monograph, by the publishing house from the
list of publishers (level II) of the Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education.
